1. Introduction
Welcome to Chess Verdict, an application dedicated to chess puzzles. We take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect your data.
2. Data we collect
- Lichess username: When you sign in via Lichess SSO, we only receive your public Lichess username, so we can show your identity in the app’s leaderboards.
- Puzzle results: We store your results (success/failure) on puzzles in the app solely to maintain an internal ranking and improve your experience.
- We do not collect, store, or share any other personal data (email address, location, payment information, etc.).
3. How we use data
- Your Lichess username is used to personalise your profile in the app and show your position on leaderboards.
- Your puzzle results are used to compute your internal rating and suggest puzzles suited to your level.
4. Sharing data
We do not share your data with third parties except where required by law. Your username and results are only visible to other users of the app within public leaderboards.
5. Third-party services and hosting
The app uses Lichess authentication (SSO) so users can sign in. Only your public Lichess username is retrieved and used as a unique identifier in the app, including for statistics and syncing across devices.
Application data is hosted on a dedicated OVH server in Roubaix, France.
The app does not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or data collection tools such as Firebase, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, or similar services.
6. Data security
Collected data is stored securely and is accessible only to the app’s administrators. We apply technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at contact@chessverdict.com. You can also delete your account and data from the app settings.
8. Children
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. If we learn that a user is under 13, we will delete their data in line with applicable regulations.
